Who is this guy?
In high school, Pete was both the class nerd and class clown. He received his Ph.D. in chemical engineering from M.I.T. where his classmates voted him most likely to appear in a mug shot wearing a pocket protector. Pete was a post-doctoral researcher at IBM, NASA, and the Eidgenossische Technische Hochschule in Zurich, Switzerland where he learned important skills like how to pronounce Eidgenossische Technische Hochschule. He started doing stand-up comedy in 2010 and performs all over the world. While his original research areas included the computer simulation of synthetic and biological macromolecules, he also studies the application of humor to improve technical education, innovation, and communication.
After three decades on the chemical & biomolecular faculty at the Georgia Institute of Technology, he is bringing his experience in research, education and comedy to both enlighten and entertain.

Applied Humor Associates specializes in the application of humor to catalyze technical innovation, communication, and education. Our approach is outside the box, and recent work includes using humorous improvisation to help improve social skills for collegiate engineering majors on the autism spectrum, and applying humor to reduce student stress before final exams.
